Rourkela is one of the major steel townships of the Steel Authority of India Limited. It is located in Howrah-Mumbai main line of South-Eastern Railway and is well connected by rail and road service networks to the rest of the country. Besides Rourkela Steel Plant, the other places of interests are the Hanuman Vatika (Here there is Asia's tallest statue of Lord Hanuman), Vedvyas, a holy spot- the meeting point of three rivers and many more tourist spots adorned with nature. The climate during the last week of January is usually pleasant (around 24°C).

The young students engaged in engineering education today are potential builders of a technologically advanced and prosperous India of the near future. For this to happen, the students have to be motivated towards creating something special, in the realm of innovation, on a knowledge base. An important enabler that can trigger ideas is the meeting of young minds. Thereafter teamwork could take them to fruition.

Pratibha - 2015 is such an event organized for the students of all engineering colleges. Such events not only create confidence and competence among the students on different aspects of engineering, they also bring together students from colleges in cities distributed far apart.
